Shiva Panchakshara Stotram

शिवपञ्चाक्षरस्तोत्रम्

Traditionally attributed to Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Also written: Nagendra Haraya Trilochanaya · Panchakshari Stotra · Shiv Panchakshar Stotra

Five verses, one for each syllable of “namaḥ śivāya”. Each verse describes Śiva and ends by bowing to him as that syllable: na, ma, śi, vā, ya.

It is among the best-known hymns to Śiva and is often sung before or after japa of the five-syllable mantra. Each verse also has its own page here, with a fuller explanation.
