To the one whose crest is worshipped by the noble sages Vasiṣṭha, Agastya and Gautama, and by the gods; whose three eyes are the moon, the sun and fire — to him who is the syllable “Va”, salutation to Śiva.
The fourth verse, for “Va”. Kumbhodbhava, “born of the jar”, is the sage Agastya.

वसिष्ठकुम्भोद्भवगौतमार्य-
मुनीन्द्रदेवार्चितशेखराय ।
चन्द्रार्कवैश्वानरलोचनाय
तस्मै वकाराय नमः शिवाय ॥
vasiṣṭha-kumbhodbhava-gautamārya-
munīndra-devārcita-śekharāya |
candrārka-vaiśvānara-locanāya
tasmai va-kārāya namaḥ śivāya ||
