He who, untouched by change, takes the shape of the worlds by his own māyā; whose glance of compassion, they say, is what we call heaven and liberation; whom yogīs always see in the heart as the one bliss of inner knowing — to that Light, half of whose body is graced by the Mountain's daughter, salutation for ever.
The invocation of the Koṭirudra Saṃhitā, which goes on to tell of the twelve Jyotirliṅgas — the “lights”. It salutes Śiva as tejas, light, and as Ardhanārīśvara in the same breath.

यो धत्ते निजमाययैव भुवनाकारं विकारोज्झितो
यस्याहुः करुणाकटाक्षविभवौ स्वर्गापवर्गाभिधौ ।
प्रत्यग्बोधसुखाद्वयं हृदि सदा पश्यन्ति यं योगिन-
स्तस्मै शैलसुताञ्चितार्धवपुषे शश्वन्नमस्तेजसे ॥
yo dhatte nija-māyayaiva bhuvanākāraṃ vikārojjhito
yasyāhuḥ karuṇā-kaṭākṣa-vibhavau svargāpavargābhidhau |
pratyag-bodha-sukhādvayaṃ hṛdi sadā paśyanti yaṃ yoginas
tasmai śaila-sutāñcitārdha-vapuṣe śaśvan namas tejase ||
