Salutation to Śambhu

ॐ शम्भवे नमः
मूल Original text
ॐ शम्भवे नमः
oṃ śambhave namaḥ
अनुवाद Translation — by Om Namah Shivay

Oṃ. Salutation to Śambhu, the source of well-being.

भाष्य Explanation — our commentary, not scripture

Śambhu means “the one from whom well-being (śam) comes”. The Śrī Rudram bows to him by this name: namaḥ śambhave ca mayobhave ca.

As a name-mantra it is short, gentle and easy to keep on the mālā — a good first japa.
